Sterling silver Star of Life stud earrings, hand crafted from our handmade design. The Star of Life symbol is used to identify EMS personnel. The six pointed star has the Rod of Asclepuis, a snake wrapped around a staff; a symbol used to denote medical care for millenium. The star's six points also represent the primary tasks of EMS: detection, reporting, response, on scene care, care in transporting and transporting to higher medical care. As a former EMT for NYCEMS, I hold this symbol in very high regard. EMS matters!
